Rumors have been buzzing around Beyonce and Jay Z’s
relationship since the video leak of the infamous
elevator fight between Jay and Solange Knowles. Those rumors are about to kick up
again, thanks to some questionable lyric changes Queen Bey made to a song about
infidelity.
The pop star took the stage in Cincinnati, Ohio this weekend on
her and Jay Z’s On the Run Tour. The curvaceous singer chose a flowing wedding
gown with a long veil to perform her heartfelt song ‘Resentment’ from her
‘B’Day’ album. The slow-tempo track is about a woman whose significant other
cheats on her, but what makes the performance seem like a specific shot at Jay
are Beyonce’s edits to the original lyrics.
The official lyrics are: “Like I was no good / Like I couldn’t
do it for you like your mistress could.” On Saturday, Beyonce changed the lines
to: “Like I was no good / Like I couldn’t do it for you like that whack b—
could.”
She also edited the lines, “Been ridin’ with you for six years …
/ I gotta look at her in her eyes and see she’s had half of me” to “Been ridin’
with you for twelve years … / I gotta look at her in her eyes and see she’s had
half of me / She ain’t even half of me / That b— will never be.”
The change from “six years” to “twelve years” is especially
suspicious, since that’s the length of her and Jay Z’s relationship.
Even still, Beyonce has been posting happy photos of her and her husband
all over social media, so whether he cheated in the past or not, it seems like
the couple is just fine now!
